The Card Collab – Issue #1
Hey collectors,
Welcome to the very first issue of The Card Collab. If you're reading this, you are officially part of the community we're building here.
Trading card games have always been more than just the cards themselves. They’re about the decks you spend weeks perfecting, the excitement of ripping open a new pack, late-night games at local shops and the communities that form around the table.
Whether you're casting spells in Magic: The Gathering, collecting rare cards from Pokémon, dueling in Yu-Gi-Oh!, or battling it out in One Piece, The Card Collab is here to highlight the people and stories behind the hobby. That’s what inspired this newsletter.
The goal with The Card Collab is simple. Create a place where collectors can stay connected with the hobby and with each other. Each issue will bring you highlights from the community, trading card news, hobby insights, collector stories and more.
Whether you’re strategically building your deck, ripping packs every week, or just getting back into the hobby after some time away, you’re in the right place.
Founder’s Note
Hi, I’m Obie, the founder and editor of The Card Collab.
I started this newsletter because trading cards have always been more than just collectibles to me. They represent the moments we remember, like opening packs, trades with friends, games at local shops, and the collections we build over time.
The Card Collab was created to bring those moments together in one place. My goal is to highlight the players, collectors, vendors, and local shops that keep the trading card community thriving.
What You Can Expect Here
Each issue will include a few things players and collectors care about most.
Community highlights showcasing players, collectors, vendors, and local shops.
Trading card game updates and new releases.
Collector tips to help you protect, organize, and grow your collection.
And of course, we’ll share some awesome pulls, standout cards, and memorable finds from the community.
A Quick Thought for Collectors
One of the best parts of the trading card hobby is that every collection tells a story.
Some collectors chase the biggest hits and rarest pulls. Others build their collections around favorite players, artists, or specific sets. For many, collecting is about rediscovering the cards they loved growing up and reconnecting with the memories that came with them.
A binder of cards can represent years of pack openings, trades with friends, late-night games at the local shop, or the thrill of finally finding that one card you’ve been searching for. That’s what makes this hobby so special. Every collection is different, and every collector has their own reason for building it.
There isn’t one “right” way to collect. The best collection isn’t always the most expensive one, it’s the one that means something to you.
Let’s Build This Together
The Card Collab is meant to be a shared space for the community.
If you’ve had a great pull, discovered a unique combo for play, built a collection you’re proud of, or have a story about how you got into the hobby, we'd love to feature it in a future issue. Just reply to this email and share it with us.
Thanks again for being here and helping start something new with The Card Collab. We're excited to grow this community with you.
Until next time, happy collecting.
