The Card Collab – Issue #6
For a lot of people, trading card games and electronic music might seem like two completely different worlds. One is filled with binders, booster packs, tournaments, and collectibles. The other revolves around loud stages, flashing lights, festivals, and DJs performing in front of massive crowds.
But for Glenn, better known in the music scene as SORCE, the connection between the two feels completely natural.
At their core, both communities are built around passion, creativity, self-expression, and finding people who love the same things you do.
And for SORCE, those worlds have become deeply connected.
From Festival Fan to Behind the Decks
Before the shows, the performances, and the local recognition within the electronic music scene, SORCE was simply a fan.
Like many people who eventually fall in love with electronic dance music, it all started with a festival experience that changed everything.
“I went to my first music festival, EDC, and fell in love with the music, the culture, and the overall vibe,” he explained. “Everybody was just so happy being 100% themselves, and that really resonated with me.”
That feeling pushed him deeper into the scene. He first began helping promote local shows before eventually finding himself stepping behind the DJ decks himself.
Now, eight years later, SORCE has become a recognizable name within the local electronic music community. Over the years, he has helped newer DJs get their start, hosted events through a collective called Tree House, and is now working on a new project called Channels Collective alongside friends and fellow creatives.
